old traditions, old homes, old wine, old friendships…

Katy’s love of design and all that is auld, bring a unique and thoughtful look to her decor.
When auld is featured in a beautifully decorated home, the style is as comfortable as it is classic.

Katy Glen is a graphic designer who formerly worked in Chicago design agencies. While raising her young children, she continued to bring her creative eye to pro-bono design work for her friends and community. Deep down, she always had a thing for interior design, which she explored while helping friends with their homes for years before taking the leap to create Auldhome Decor in 2018. 

As a young girl, Katy would tag along with her mom to flea markets to scout out “good junk” to bring home for decor. This love of market-shopping and all things “auld” continued to grow while she and her husband spent time in London and she discovered quite possibly her favorite place in the world – Portobello Market. Through the years, this perfection of the find, combined with her trained design eye, makes beauty in simplicity the core of her decorating style in homes. She lives with her husband and three kids in Wilmette, and would love to add her special touch to your home.
